The working principle and advantages of reverse osmosis water treatment
Penetration technology is today's most advanced and most energy efficient membrane separation technology. The principle is higher than the solution osmotic pressure, according to other substances can not pass through the semipermeable membrane and these substances and water separated. As the membrane diameter of the reverse osmosis membrane is very small (only about 10A), it can effectively remove dissolved salts, colloids, microorganisms and organic matter in water (removal rate of 97-98%). The system has the advantages of good water quality, low energy consumption, no pollution, simple process and simple operation.
Reverse osmosis technology is usually used for seawater, brackish water fresh water; water softening treatment; wastewater treatment and food, pharmaceutical industry, chemical industry purification, enrichment, separation and so on. In addition, reverse osmosis technology used in pre-desalting treatment also achieved good results, can make the ion exchange resin to reduce the load more than 90% loose, the amount of resin regeneration agent can also be reduced by 90%. Therefore, not only cost savings, but also conducive to environmental protection. Reverse osmosis technology can also be used in addition to the particles in the water, organic matter, colloidal material, to reduce the ion exchange resin pollution, extend the service life has a good effect.
Reverse osmosis is the most widely used desalination technology in the preparation of high purity water. It is separated from the ionic range and molecular weight of organic matter, reverse osmosis (RO), ultrafiltration (UF), microporous membrane filtration ( MF) and electrodialysis (ED) technology are membrane separation technology.
In the past 30 years, reverse osmosis, electrodialysis, ultrafiltration and membrane filtration have entered the industrial application and developed rapidly. In the semiconductor, integrated circuit manufacturing process, the food and pharmaceutical industry, usually reverse osmosis desalination in high purity water preparation, Ultrafiltration is used as a reprocessing system for water preparation. Membrane filtration is used for pretreatment and post-treatment of water treatment for the filtration of particulates and bacteria.
working principle:
The desalination rate of the reverse osmosis equipment is generally 98-99%. Such desalination rates are sufficient in most cases. In the electronics industry, ultrahigh pressure boiler supply water, individual pharmaceutical industry requirements for pure water May be higher. At this point single-stage reverse osmosis equipment can not meet the requirements.
Penetration is common in nature, such as putting a cucumber in saline, cucumber will become smaller due to loss of water. The process of water molecules entering the brine solution in the cucumber is the osmosis process. If a water-only membrane can be used to partition a pool into two parts, respectively, on both sides of the diaphragm were injected with pure water and brine to the same height. Over a period of time can be found pure water level decreased, and salt water level increased. The phenomenon of migrating water molecules into the brine through this membrane is called infiltration. Salt water level is not endless, to a certain height will reach a balance point. At this time the difference between the two sides of the diaphragm on behalf of the pressure is called osmotic pressure. The osmotic pressure is directly related to the concentration of brine.
After the above device reaches equilibrium, if a certain pressure is applied to the liquid level of the brine, the water molecules will migrate from the brine end to the pure water end. Liquid agent molecules under pressure from the dilute solution to the concentrated solution of the process of migration This phenomenon is called reverse osmosis phenomenon. If brine is added to one end of the above facility and a pressure is applied at that end beyond the osmotic pressure of the brine, we can obtain pure water at the other end. This is the principle of reverse osmosis water. Reverse osmosis facilities to produce pure water there are two key, one is a selective membrane, we call semi-permeable membrane, the second is a certain pressure. In short, the reverse osmosis semipermeable membrane has a large number of holes, the size of these holes and the size of water molecules, due to bacteria, viruses, most of the organic pollutants and hydrated ions are much larger than the water molecules, The reverse osmosis semipermeable membrane is separated from the aqueous phase through the reverse osmosis membrane. In the water a variety of impurities, the dissolved salts are the most difficult to remove. Therefore, often based on the level of desalination to determine the reverse osmosis water purification effect of reverse osmosis desalination rate depends mainly on the reverse osmosis semipermeable membrane The selectivity. At present, the higher selectivity of the reverse osmosis membrane element desalination rate can be as high as 99.7%.
